The core of this district centers on the intersection of 45th and
Berkeley. It is largely comprised of masonry rowhouses dating to
1890-1905. However, the district also includes 100 surrounding
structures, which are located outside of the core, some built prior to
the area's annexation to Chicago in 1889.
